Do You Have To Shave Your Head To Have An FUE Procedure?

It is common, especially during large FUE procedures, to shave the patient's head so the hair surgeon can clearly see the angle the hairs are exiting the scalp so that the excision angle follows the angle of the hair follicle. This also makes implanting the grafts easier for the surgical team.

For some patients, though, this is a significant factor in having an FUE hair transplant because of either personal privacy or the high visibility of their business or social life.

With AlviArmani’s Executive Non-Shaving Hair Restoration option, the hair above the donor area is left at normal length, and only a narrow strip of hair is clipped so that the area where the grafts are harvested is concealed by the patient’s existing hair when combed back in place.

The only limitation of this procedure is that the number of grafts that can be harvested during a surgical session is usually limited to 1,500 to 2,000 grafts and may require multiple sessions to accomplish the full result.

Also, the grafts are implanted between existing hair so that after showering, they are camouflaged by the surrounding hair. This requires a high level of skill from the entire surgical team.

The good news is that the patient can then return to work and daily activities immediately without people knowing that a hair restoration has taken place.
